Sparky OUR PUPPY

Today the family dog, Sparky was put to rest. Sparky was 13 years old, he had heart and breathing problems. As a Family, we tried the best we could to nurse him back to health and hope that some good could come from it. We brought him to the Vet and was told that all we could really do was keep him comfortable and not exert him. We tried but OUR PUPPY was just to sick and old like all living things get after a certain age. And like all sad occasions, what brings comfort is remembering and talking about how he was. The good times, the fun and exciting times. So here goes.
I was the newcomer to the family 10 years ago. At the time Sparky was living with Gerri. I had come to find out that Sparky was picked out by her son Stevie and that he was away at college and that is why Gerri had Sparky. Anyway, I will never forget my first time visiting Gerri who at the time I had just started to date. I walked in the house and this gorgeous white ball of fur came running towards me. I really didn't know if I should run back out of the house or let him do whatever it was he did to newcomers. As it turned out, he got up on his hind legs, tongue out tail wagging and allowed me into the family. Sparky and I bonded so quickly. He gravitated towards me. He loved the both of US.I always said Sparky HATED females lol. As time went on, I moved in with Gerri and Sparky and we had our own little family going along with 5 cats. I remember SPARKY getting skunked. MAN did he STINK. That old wives tale about tomato juice and skunk smell?? DO NOT believe it, it made the stench worse. We took SPARKY to the groomers who performed a miracle and got the stench out of him. So what happened 3 days later?? He got SKUNKED AGAIN... One day after he just got groomed,he was silky smooth, shiny white and all perfumed up, we let him out to WEEWEE and he came back with red sauce all over his face. We STILL don't know where he got that from. My job as it is has really crappy hours. I would leave at 2 AM and get home around noon time. Sparky there to greet me at the door and we would go in that yard so he could WEEWEE... When we got back in he was always jumping and making sudden moves to the back of the house. I would tease him because he knew what TIME it was. It was BED TIME.He would bark, turn to run to the back of the house and I would sit there. he would sit at my feet and when I said Come on Spark BED TIME he would take off at like 50MPH to the bedroom and leap up on the bed. Me and "Spark" were sleeping buddies. I would get comfortable and when I stopped moving he would curl up against me. Eventually Stevie came back from school and Sparky gravitated towards him. Stevie and Sparky were inseparable. The love those 2 had for each other was an amazing thing to watch. Gerri and I would go on vacation and when we got back if Stevie was behind us he would ZOOM right past our open arms and into his. Time came where Stevie met his bride and they had to go out on there own. Gerri told Stevie that Sparky would be heart broken if he stayed with us so he went on his merry way with Grace and Stevie. Gerri and I would look after "SPARK" every so often and like old times he would listen for the BED TIME SPARK and ZOOOOOOOOM to the bed. Now remember what I said earlier about SPARKY NOT liking females? Well SPARKY initiated Grace one day while they were home. Grace was a relative newcomer to SPARKY. Story goes, Stevie Grace and SPARKY were lying in bed. Grace called SPARKY over to lie on her stomach which SPARKY gladly did. Next thing you know, POW throw up all over Grace's face.... Sorry grace, SPARKY Stevie and I had a MAN thing going.
SPARKY was just that. A SPARK. Running, playing, doing what dogs do. He LOVED baths, LOVED pulling whatever poor bastard was walking him at the time because we couldn't be fast enough for him. What a JOY, a PLEASURE and a FRIEND he was. Time wore on OLD SPARKY. SPARKY was my first PUPPY here UPSTATE in Westchester. I am already missing OUR PUPPY but the good times we had will make us all get though this difficult time.
OUR PUPPY SPARKY will be missed greatly BUT NEVER EVER FORGOTTEN. Take care and rest peaceful BUDDY.. Love you............

911

Hello peeps, well today is 911.. a very sad day for the US and especially my home state of NY... I have reflected on today and I have decided that I will celebrate the lives of those lost and NOT their deaths. I will do this from this anniversary and every one to follow. We hang an American Flag everyday at my house and today it means more then the rest... Rest in Peace all of you innocents that lost their lives 8 years ago... I try not to remember that day, I was on Columbus Ave and 86 Th st when a plane flew what seemed like 100 ft over our heads. I heard what happened not 5 min later. As I was going over the Triborough Bridge I saw the smoke from the towers. 40 min later I was on the Throgs Neck bridge and saw a dust cloud. Fire trucks all over every highway... I don't want to remember that day... That's why I will celebrate the LIVES of people I didn't know from now on... Yes all you innocents, REST IN PEACE....

911 debacle

Hello fellow bloggers and faithful readers, unfortunately Friday is a very sad day for the USA. Eight years ago this Great Country was attacked by a bunch coward terrorists who killed 4000 innocent people... NY, my home state, was hit the hardest. This City rallied like no other. It made me PROUD to be a NY'er to see my fellow NY'ers react and come together... The powers that be was promising that the Buildings that were knocked down would be replaced by a Newer BIGGER BETTER set of buildings. Only thing is the people who promised us that in 2001, the NY State Government and the NY City Government, failed to mention it would take 36 yrs to complete. Yup that's right, the Sate Lawmakers that be said by the year 2037 The FREEDOM Tower and all the rest of the NEW WORLD TRADE CENTER would be completed. I for one am ashamed to be associated with this state. "THE GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD". that's what someone called this City along time ago. Well I think that moniker should be shed because I don't think THE GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD would take anymore then MAYBE 5 yrs to rebuild. The City, The PA and Silverstien Properties and of course the Unions who are working on the project are ALL to be blamed. Silverstien wants 90% rental office space, like he doesn't have enough money already, the City and PA want less office space and the Unions just want to keep working as long as possible so the workers can rape the city dry.And the Families of loved ones lost are asking for some kind of park where they can go and remember family that was lost that awful day. Well NYC, since those families lost someone near and dear, and since the city REALLY belongs to US the people, I say build a park to honor those innocents who lost their lives, the Brave Fireman all 371 and counting, with a nice lawn, a statue to commemorate that fateful day. Silverstien can have his office towers but maybe not as much of them. YUP 36 yrs to tell the World that WE the state of NY is THE GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD. It's a DAMN SHAME this city sucks... Empire Sate Building- Built in 1 year and 3 weeks 80 something yrs ago and STILL standing, the Old Twin Towers- 10 yrs to build and stood for 30 something yrs. Yup 36 yrs to build 3 or 4 buildings... I wonder how many family members will still be alive to enjoy the Commemoration.... The 911 DEBACLE.....

ANOTHER pet peeve

Hello all, it's time to vent again. Is it only me or do other people find the following a pet peeve like I do... Did everyone get the question about WHAT DOES YIELD MEAN WRONG on their written test? How come it's cool now to enter a highway without slowing down or looking to see if it is SAFE to do so. By the way, for those of you who got that question wrong on your tests, that last part was the answer to the question... As you all know from following my blogs, I am a truck driver.. A TRACTOR TRAILER driver. Why is it that I get cursed at, given the finger or honked when I am doing 55 or 60 mph and I DON'T slow down for a car entering the highway? Especially since I can't move over?? People look at me like I was the one in the wrong... It can't be everyone is looking to DIE is it?? Yesterday I was on 95 North when this car in front of me jammed on it's brakes, with me behind them mind you, while doing 55 mph and they slowed down and let someone in who is supposed to slow down to get on the highway... Thank GOD I saw it was an elderly couple and I was a safe enough distance back to slow down in time. PEOPLE PLEASE PLEASE know the rules of the road because the next time it may be YOU in front of me and I won't be able to stop.........

My fellow bloggers, I am at a crisis mode. My family wants me to shut down my blog because they think it's to controversial. After years of saying to me that I am a very good writer, you should be a writer why don't you try and write something, now after 3 blogs they are a threatening bunch of crazy people. BLOGGERS OF THE WORLD UNITE AGAINST SUCH TIERNEY... All of my creative passion is pouring out of me so fast, so much to write about, so many truths to be told. I can NOT allow this to happen by people who don't understand what I am about... HELP ME PLEASE MY FELLOW BLOGGERS... THESE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO MUTINY against ME....

DOT A-HOLES

Well today I called the NYC Police on the NYC DOT.. As all of you know, I drive a Tractor Trailer. I was driving down Cooper Ave in Queens today like I always do. To my surprise 3 blocks after 80Th ST there was a ROAD CLOSED sign they were repaving Cooper Ave . Well I figured OK I'll just make a right, go down 88 TH ST to Union Tkpe and go around this. Well I did just that and guess what I saw 3 blocks down? NYC DOT had 88TH ST closed down for, you guessed it, ROAD CLOSED sign and for what? YUP REPAVING... So now here I am blocking up 88TH ST because all of the side streets are to small for my truck to get down. This asshole DOT guy comes up to me and says. "you have to move that truck your blocking up the road". So here I am FUMING because some DOT GENIUS thought it was a good idea to close 2 of the biggest Streets in this part of Queens. I turned to this moron and asked him, " have you ever driven one of these? His answer was NO, so I told him in a clear LOUD BROOKLYN voice, "where the fuck do you expect me to go with you closing down the streets what damn genius thought this shit up? With that here comes ANOTHER tractor trailer BACKING out of a side street. I said ok dumbass, now where do you want the 2 of us to go?? He looked around and he had that look on his face like, oh shit now what... He immediately called over 4 other dumbass DOT workers and together they stopped all traffic in all directions so the other driver and myself could back out of the street. If anyone who works for the city happens to read this or knows Mayor Bloomberg personally could you ask him to call me? I need to apply for head of NYC DOT because the jerkoffs they have working there now are really really assholes.... And The Police Thanked me for calling and said they would take care of it ASAP... YEA RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little League World Series

Well it's that time of year again. My favorite sport to watch. The Little League World Series. Today the first 2 games were played. Staten Island against Mercer Island Washington and Chinese Taipei against Ramstein Air Force Base... Staten Island put a hurting on Mercer Island winning by the score of 10-2. They looked almost unstoppable. This team if they play the way they did today, watch out U.S. Division. The second game was the fastest game I have ever seen in the Little League World Series. A 12-0 2 inning trouncing of Ramstien. Now this in itself wouldn't be a big deal for me BUT in case anyone didn't know, Ramstien Air Force Base is made up of solely Americans even though they represented Germany. They are the offspring of the American Soldiers stationed there. After seeing that embarrassment, I sure wish they were German born players.
I was wondering if anyone else shared my enthusiasm for this Tournament? I rarely watch the Major League crybabies for the last 2 weeks in August so I can concentrate on the little guys. Sometimes there are some really good and well played games. But those are usually in the Championship Playoff round. So if anyone else enjoys watching, I would like to hear about it and your views on this subject...
